Broadway dancing star Rosalie Lawrence meets and falls in love with wealthy Hugh Thompson.  Because his parents oppose the match and prefer that he marry Barbara Royce, Rosalie and Hugh wed secretly.

But when he reveals to Rosalie that he does not consider her worth the loss of his father's millions, she returns to the country and her childhood sweetheart, Tom Darcy.
