Henri, a stage "super," plays an extra in a Follies revue whose job is to sit astride an elephant in a rajah's costume, and he falls in love with a beautiful and haughty duchess, a regular patron who is fascinated with the tigers in the revue.  To win her, Henri appears dressed in the rajah's costume at the restaurant that she and her admirers frequent.

Henri arouses her interest, then finally her love when he shows tremendous courage before the tigers; then he admits to being a sham and confesses that the tiger whose cage he entered was dead.

The next day she proves her love by joining the chorus line.
