Nellie Wayne loses her husband, Pendleton, to Jill
Wetherell by neglecting him and her appearance to pursue her
literary ambitions. Nellie goes to Europe, where she becomes
fashionable and a famous novelist under the name of Mrs. Paramor.
She encounters Jill with Perley Rex, whom the vamp has married after
jilting Pendleton. Intending to teach Jill a lesson, Nellie
applies her charms to Perley until he offers to divorce Jill, but
Nellie refuses and sends for Pendleton, whom she still loves.
Later, at a banquet and mahjong party, Mrs. Paramor
entertains several MGM stars who are to work in the film version of
one of her novels.
